Theater of the Rocks

Under the rocky wall of the San Rocco quarry, a few hundred meters away from the park entrance, is the Teatro delle Rocce.

The structure reminiscent of an ancient Greek theater was designed to become an integral part of the wall itself, thus causing a minimum impact on the landscape.

Its stone steps, in fact, following the sinuous shape of the quarry face, seem to merge with the rocky wall.
The San Rocco quarry was created to supply the gravel mine, necessary to fill the cultivation voids, thus increasing safety and the possibility of maximum exploitation of the mineral vein.

The open-air theater can accommodate 600 – 1000 people and is home to an interesting theatrical program in the summer season.
